Dr. Abeyta is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with sub specialty fellowship expertise in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic surgical techniques. He has practiced for over 15 years in the Burlingame and San Mateo area. His primary areas of interest include shoulder and knee surgery treating a wide variety of tendon, ligament, and cartilage injury conditions. He uses modern surgical techniques to perform rotator cuff repair, labrum surgery, cartilage restoration, ACL reconstruction, and meniscus surgery among many other procedures. He has served as the team physician for San Mateo High School for 15 years as a volunteer. He is currently the chair of the orthopedic department at the Burlingame PAMF location.

Personal Notes about Dr. Abeyta
Dr. Abeyta was born and raised in the bay area and an avid sports enthusiast with a love for football, basketball, and baseball. He loves international travel and enjoys hiking and exploring. Dr. Abeyta has three wonderful children that have all grown up in the local communities. He continues to volunteer his time with the San Mateo High school football team and enjoys caring for the athletes in the local community.
After decades of physical activity, and due to a congenital problem, I actually required bilateral hip surgery myself. Through my experience as a patient I have a unique perspective, one which has confirmed the importance of preparation, a dedicated surgical team, and patience with rehabilitation.
